Dear aspiring and experienced poet,
Life is poetry and poetry is life. None happens without the other. Sometimes life takes over and writing suffers. As a parent, you will not escape the thoughts of “my family comes first”. Yet, a writer knows well that without writing is to lose a part of themselves. As a mother, I am struggling to maintain the balance between writing and parenting. Penning a poem requires more energy than it was a year ago. Notwithstanding the challenge to balance both creative writing and motherhood, it is crucial that I keep writing poetry.
Poetry has given me an abundance of guilt-free pleasures.
